COVID-19 Relief — 12,000+ Families

During the pandemic, CDROME mobilised relief operations across Maharashtra and distributed essential supplies to over 12,000 families. The effort was formally appreciated by NITI Aayog, Government of India.

Mumbai Floods 2005 — 5,000 Families

When the 2005 Mumbai deluge devastated lakhs of homes, CDROME volunteers and staff were on the ground rescuing and supporting over 5,000 affected families with food, shelter, and basic aid.

Cyclone Tauktae — Fishermen Community

Following Cyclone Tauktae's devastation along the Maharashtra coast, CDROME extended immediate relief to the fishermen community — one of the most vulnerable groups — helping them rebuild their livelihoods.

JNPA — 1,000 Computers & 76 Tablets

Through the JNPA-CSR partnership, CDROME delivered 1,000 computers and 76 tablets to Eklavya Model Residential Schools for tribal children. The initiative was inaugurated by the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais.

Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya Vikas Abhiyan — 2nd Position

CDROME was awarded 2nd position in Thane District under the Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya Vikas Abhiyan — a state government recognition of our outstanding skill-development outcomes.

2,000 Coconut + 5,000 Mango Trees

CDROME planted 2,000 coconut trees and 5,000 mango trees in Raigad district as part of its environmental mission. In Thane District, 255 farmers were trained in modern agricultural practices.

Our Journey

From One Centre
to a National Movement

1998

Founded in Kalyan, Mumbai

Vijay Manohar Vasekar established CDROME Education Society under the Pansi Group with ₹1.5 lakh — a commitment to free vocational training for economically weaker communities in Maharashtra.

2001

PMO Special Project — First NGO Selected

CDROME became the first NGO selected under the Prime Minister's Special Project for Free Computer Education in North East & Tribal Areas — a landmark national recognition.

2005

Mumbai Floods — 5,000 Families Supported

During the devastating 2005 Mumbai floods, CDROME mobilised on-ground rescue and relief operations, supporting over 5,000 affected families with food, shelter, and emergency aid.

2008

Multi-State Expansion — 5+ States

Training operations expanded beyond Maharashtra to 5+ Indian states, bringing government-funded skill development to rural and tribal communities across the country.

2012

ONGC-CSR — 7 Assets Partnership

A landmark agreement with ONGC (across 7 assets) brought sustained CSR funding to CDROME's skill training programmes — one of the organisation's largest sustained funding relationships.

2015

JNPA — 1,000 Computers to Tribal Schools

Through the JNPA-CSR partnership, CDROME delivered 1,000 computers and 76 tablets to Eklavya Model Residential Schools for tribal children — inaugurated by the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais.

2018

Pramod Mahajan Award — 2nd in Thane District

CDROME received the 2nd position award in Thane District under the Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya Vikas Abhiyan — Maharashtra state government recognition for outstanding skill development outcomes.

2020

CDROME provided immediate relief to the fishermen community affected by Cyclone Tauktae. The American India Foundation partnership was also formalised this period, bringing international expertise to our programmes.
